MatcherLab Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 22, 2026

MatcherLab is operated by 2048 Design LLC, a Florida company, at matcherlab.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit the site, create an account, purchase a scan, or contact us.

Privacy questions and requests: support@matcherlab.com. Legal notices under the Terms may also use support@2048design.com. We treat both as MatcherLab support.

1. Information we collect

We collect what you give us: work email (sign-in), company name and profile, search configuration (including Target / Deprioritize / Exclude tags, filters, and free text), affiliated companies you add, and messages you send to support.

If you sign in with Google, we receive the account identifier and profile fields Google shares with your authorization. If you use an email magic link, we process your email to send the link and create the session.

Stripe processes payments. We receive order, transaction, and payment-status information. You enter card details in Stripe, not on MatcherLab. Stripe handles that information under its own Privacy Policy. We do not store full card numbers.

We process technical information needed to run and secure the site: IP address, browser and device details, and access logs. hCaptcha runs when you request a magic-link email, to stop bots.

Vercel Web Analytics (aggregate, cookieless pageview and visitor counting) loads by default for all visitors and stops when you decline analytics in Cookie preferences. Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps) runs only after you allow Analytics in Cookie preferences. Both are named in Cookie settings.

2. Conference and company records

MatcherLab scores conference companies (exhibitors and attending companies) against the profile you enter and delivers a ranked company shortlist. Source materials may include company names and, where present in the corpus, professional attendee information. Publicly available personal information is still handled as personal information.

We use these records to produce the scan you purchased. Standard deliverables are company-level (ranked list / spreadsheet). We do not sell personal contact lists.

We do not add people from the conference corpus, or from files a customer uploads, to MatcherLab’s own marketing list.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and keep your account, run matching, deliver the spreadsheet by email, process payment, prevent abuse, respond to support, and send transactional mail (receipt, matching started, delivery).

If you have not opted out, we may send occasional email about MatcherLab and upcoming event-matching opportunities. You can unsubscribe or email support@matcherlab.com. Necessary account and transaction messages still send for a purchase you made.

Website cookie choices do not authorize marketing email. Checking the Terms box at checkout does not turn on optional analytics.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in serving business customers and securing the service, legal obligations, or consent where required (including optional analytics).

Company scores support commercial research. We do not use them to make legal or similarly significant decisions about individuals.

4. AI

We use third-party AI providers through APIs to analyze company information and prepare match outputs. Submitted information may include the company profile, targeting criteria, and related company records needed for that scan. We do not send payment-card numbers to AI providers.

We do not use your personal information to train our own models. We do not currently offer a separate opt-in to train on confidential customer material. How providers may use API traffic is governed by their terms; we do not authorize them to train on your personal information for their own models.

5. Who receives information

Authorized team members and subcontractors of 2048 Design LLC may access information to operate MatcherLab.

Providers that process information to run the service include:

  • Hosting and the website: Vercel
  • Account, database, and file storage: Supabase
  • Payments: Stripe
  • Email: Resend
  • Bot protection: hCaptcha
  • DNS: GoDaddy
  • AI providers, only as needed to produce a scan

Vercel Web Analytics, which is on by default, receives aggregate pageview counts until you decline analytics. Microsoft Clarity receives session-recording data only after you allow Analytics.

We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or security, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate protections.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not give it to conference organizers for their marketing. We do not upload customer email lists to advertising audiences.

6. Cookies and similar storage

Essential (always on). Sign-in, security, requested checkout, and remembering your Cookie settings. These are not optional. Rejecting optional tools does not sign you out or block payment.

Optional. Analytics (understand website use) and marketing (advertising and campaign measurement). Analytics is on by default and turns off when you decline it; marketing extras are loaded only after you allow them. Analytics providers are named in Cookie settings.

Cookie preferences is a footer link on every page. You can reject optional tools, allow them, or change a previous choice. Closing the dialog or pressing Escape does not grant permission.

We remember this browser’s choice for up to 180 days, or until you change it. That is a preference lifetime, not a schedule for keeping your account data. A choice on matcherlab.com does not apply to a different domain.

Withdrawing permission stops optional tools we control on this site and refreshes the page. It is not a deletion request for data already collected. Email support@matcherlab.com to request deletion.

This control does not cover pixels inside emails. Open/click tracking in mail, if used, is separate; website cookie choices do not turn it on.

7. Retention and security

We keep account, profile, search configuration, and match records while your account exists and as needed to deliver a purchased scan, handle support, meet accounting rules, and resolve disputes. We have not published numbered deletion periods.

You may request deletion at support@matcherlab.com. We may keep a minimal record (for example, that you unsubscribed) so we do not contact you again. We are not required to host a downloaded spreadsheet indefinitely.

We use restricted access and multifactor authentication for operator accounts. No system is completely secure.

8. International processing

MatcherLab is operated from the United States. Some providers may process information in other countries. Contact us if you need information about the providers relevant to your data.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information; to object to certain uses, including direct marketing; to withdraw consent; and to complain to a data-protection authority.

These rights are not limited to EU or UK residents. Email support@matcherlab.com. We may need to verify it is you. Where we hold information only for another customer, we will point you to that customer or assist them.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Children, sensitive data, and updates

MatcherLab is a professional service and is not directed to children. Do not upload patient information, identifiable clinical records, government IDs, or financial-account details. Enter payment information only through Stripe.

We may update this policy. We will change the effective date on this page. Material new optional tracking will not reuse an old Cookie settings choice; Cookie settings will ask again.
